Kim Ahrens is a Certified Coach with over ten years of experience coaching individuals to build resilience, develop emotional intelligence, and enhance personal growth.
Kim’s clients benefit from her extensive background in positive psychology (mind), nursing (body), and spiritual counseling (spirit). As a former oncology nurse and recent cancer survivor, Kim has both a deep knowledge and a personal compassion about challenging illnesses. Kim helps clients connect with their life purpose through deeply exploring their values, which provide a unique compass that leads to better decisions and a more content life. She is intensely focused on the need to turn down the volume of one’s inner critic and counter it with affirming self-compassion. When appropriate, Kim encourages meditation and breathing techniques to improve mental and physical health.
Kim uses the entirety of her education and experiences to help people bounce back from adversity. She helps with personal and relationship challenges, divorce recovery, career set- backs, health traumas, or loss of a loved one (human or pet). She helps people set and achieve goals around health and wellness.
Kim has also modeled her own resilience for the past 20 years after a head-on car accident put her in a wheelchair. Kim’s daughter was three weeks-old and also in the car, but emerged unscathed and has almost graduated from college. Kim and her family are strong advocates for the disabled community and they are called upon to meet with patients and families suffering from recent spinal cord injuries. Kim lives in San Francisco with her husband and their adorable Norwich Terrier, Rosie. When not in San Francisco, they especially love to travel in Italy.
